Principal’s Message 2016

January 2016

Welcome back and Happy New Year RSS!

Every time I talk about RSS, I talk about our ‘school community’.  This is the wide group that consists of students, parents, and school staff members who are inherently connected to the school and work together to ensure it is a positive and effective place to learn.

Today, I want to ensure that we acknowledge the support that we receive from the many groups, businesses, and organizations in the town of Revelstoke .  We partner with many groups in Revelstoke and they also help us provide space, support, learning, and services to our students.

Student Well-Being is at the heart of our efforts at RSS and these community groups are instrumental in helping us achieve this goal.  The Neighbourhood of Learning space in our counselling area offers the perfect venue for our students to access community-based services including the Okanagan College, Community Connections, Child and Youth Mental Health, the Revelstoke Youth Liaison, and the Stoke Youth Network.

These community groups, along with our students and their supportive parents, allow RSS to be a vibrant place of learning where students have the opportunity to do their best.

So thank-you Revelstoke!  I wish you all the very best in 2016!
